I found this today, a Buick Regal GSX Stage 3.
The GSX was the product of SLP, and was sold as a series of dealer installed packages.
Stage 3 was the highest stage you could get, and increased the horsepower to 270. More information can be found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

What a shiny turd!
But really, who would walk in to a dealer and spend this much money on a freaking Buick Regal?

ME!

Hmm, I figured stage 3 would be more impressive.

I would! Imagine how the Fast and Furious fans would feel after a race when this was new.

Keep in mind, the stock Regal GS had 240 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Stage 3 increased that to 270 hp and 312 lb-ft of torque. That increase of 30 hp and 32 lb-ft of torque doesn't seem bad for a dealer add-on package from 2003.

People thought the same thing:
Though that GSX will never be as awesome as a GN.

True, until you compare it to the SS Cobalt upgrade tiers.

also keep in mind 240hp is underrated as well. True hp tends to be closer to 250-255.

Is that a far comparo since the SS Cobalt is 1o years newer and turbo?
![]() 08/25/2014 at 18:08 |

the stage 1 Cobalt SS Turbo only gained like 20hp and tq....they didn't do any other stages on the Turbo
The SC however was 256 ish at the wheels HP and 229wtq
Stock was something like 200ish,
And the Cobalt SC was only like 2 years newer, the Turbo was 5 years newer on first release.

No, it isn't.

Numbers are conservative, too.

Pretty equal if you ask my opinion.
50ish WHP gain on the Stage 3 Cobalt SC upgrade, but then think about it car wise, one is a four door sedan not made to be fast, the Cobalt was sold as a "sports" coupe or whatever...
The Turbo was a 20 gain on the only kit they made for it

I just decided that if I owned this car I would have my licence plate say MYMOMS

How do you figure it was 2 years newer? The Supercharged Regal GS came out in '97 and the SC Cobalt was out in '05

Read dealer option in 2003....that is what I based it off of

There is so much fun to be had with that thing.
